Several EVs involved in a massive fire, no battery packs caught fire
On Tuesday there where massive car fire at Sola airport in Norway. Several hundred cars were involved.
In the beginning, EVs did get a loot of blams for both starting the fire and for being the reason for the explosive development.
But it was wrong accusations. The fire started in an old diesel Opel. Although many electric cars were involved, it looks like no battery packs caught fire. This, of course, have to be investigated closer.
The building has partly collapsed. At the moment, it is too dangerous to go into the building for the investigators. We need to wait to get the full picture and answers to all the questions. It was over 1600 cars in the parking house when the fire started, and around 300 was involved in the fire.
